Day 29: Hopes, Dreams, And Plans For The Next 365 Days

I have so many things I want to accomplish in my life from finishing my schooling to having a family. I don't actually want to put anything into writing (or a post) though because I do fear that I would be jinxing myself!

Day 29: Hopes, Dreams, And Plans For The Next 365 Days.
Live Life To The Fullest

I would like to make some personal changes. I don't want to stress as much and I want to appreciate the little things more.

Day 24: Whatever I'd Like To Talk About

My Day 24 challenge will consist of me posting my Day 25, Day 26, and Day 27 challenges. Enjoy!

Day 24: Whatever I'd Like To Talk About
Days 25-28 Your Day, Week, Month, And Year In Great Detail

I guess I should of stated the above differently. Since I like my privacy and do not feel like sharing personal information with everyone just yet.... I am actually not going to be posting Days 25-27 because I'm not comfortable giving in great detail, details about my life.

Sorry :(

Day 23: A YouTube Video

I'm like addicted to watching YT beauty gurus! I'm always on YT. In fact, right after I get caught up on my blog, I'm going to get caught up with all the videos I've missed.

Day 23: A YouTube Video

I didn't want to post any specific videos, but I thought I would tell you about one of my favorite YT beauty gurus. Euchante is one of my favorites because she has a very easy, outgoing personality and her videos are always very entertaining.

Day 22: A Website

I wasn't sure how I wanted to approach this topic today; Should I write about my favorite clothing websites? Should I write about my most visited websites? So to make things easier I thought I would write about the last 5 websites I visited in the last hour.

Day 22: A Website

I was blog stalking and saw that Flirty Aprons was doing a giveaway with a blog so I wanted to check out their aprons. They have the cutest aprons ever! There flirty, cute, and so perfect for cooking!

Facebook and People are to websites I visit regularly because I love to get gossip!

Dulce Candy is one of my favorite fashion/beauty gurus. She always has the cutest outfits and I love her personality!

Handbag Heaven is a newer site that I have been visiting. I just recently bought a handbag from them which I love. I also did a product review on the handbag!

I'm Back!

Well I'm back from my little vacation! It was a nice couple of days that I got to spend with my hubby. Our days were spent lounging around, eating good food, and watching lots of tv and movies!

BUT back to reality...

I need to catch up on some things around the house, school things and blogging. I am almost finished with my 30 Day Challenge, so to stay on track I'm going to be doing days 22 - 27 tonight.

I'm also going to be putting Sundays I'm In Love as well as Wordless Wednesdays on hold until I am finished with the 30 Day Challenge.

Day 21: A Recipe

Oooh I'm so excited to tell you all about my favorite recipe!!!! I enjoy cooking so much and it is becoming a hobby of mine.

Day 21: A Recipe
Italian Fish And Veggie Pockets

I got this recipe from Everyday Italian from the Food Network. I make it with salmon though and it is delicous! Also, I love visiting the blog, Favorite Family Recipes It has so many great recipes that are really easy to do but make a great impression. Here's the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 lemon, zested
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, plus more for seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, plus more for seasoning
  • 1 1/2 pounds sugar snap peas, stemmed
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 orange bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 4 teaspoons olive oil
  • 4 (4-ounce) trout fillets, skinned (or other fish about 1/2-inch thick)
  • 8 thin slices lemon
  • 1/4 cup fresh chopped mint leaves

Directions

Special equipment: 4 large sheets of aluminum foil or parchment paper
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a small bowl mix together the lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
Lay out the 4 sheets of aluminum foil. Place 1/4 of the sugar snap peas, 1/4 of the yellow bell peppers, and 1/4 of the orange bell peppers on each sheet of foil. Over each pile of vegetables drizzle 2 tablespoons of white wine, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon of olive oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and gently toss.
Top each pile of seasoned vegetables with a piece of fish. Sprinkle the fish with some of the reserved lemon zest mixture. Top each fish with 2 slices of lemon.
Fold up the foil into an air-tight packet. Place the foil packets in the oven and bake for 15 to 18 minutes depending on the thickness of the fish. Sprinkle the fish with mint just before serving.

Wordless Wednesday.

I'm going on vacation! Well not exactly... I'm having family come out and visit me so I'll be M.I.A. for a couple of days (Today till Tuesday). Day 20: A Hobby Of Yours.
Working Out
Scrapbooking
Blogging

Organizing

#1 Working Out. I love living a healthy lifestyle. Nothing makes me feel better than lifting up some weights or putting something healthy in my mouth knowing that it is making me healthier!

#2 Scrapbooking. I'm not one to have a ton of pictures on my walls but I do love taking photos and putting them into cute scrapbooks. I like to make my own pages  as well as use pre-made ones.

#3 Blogging. While I'm new to this blogging thing, I do love it so much. It's such an outlet.

#4 YouTube Videos. I don't make YT videos but I do like watching the beauty gurus on there. Its becoming a hobby of mine because I always do it on a regular basis and I get some great tips from the gurus.

#5 Organizing. Seems like a weird hobby, but I'm always trying to find news ways for my stuff to be organized.

I'm In Love...

Once a week I will be posting an "I'm In Love With...". In these post I will be writing or showing you what I am in love with this week! YAY! Let me know if you enjoy this!

I'm In Love With...
with quote "Together is our favorite place to be..."

facebook stalking, hah
YouTube Beauty Gurus
life...

P.S. 'I'm in Love' idea from And This Is What She Said.

Day 17: An Art Piece

I really enjoy art, whether it be in a paint form, sculpture, or writing. However, I don't know any artists, or famous pieces, etc. I just know what pieces I like and which ones I don't. I usually tend to be more into painting or sculpture pieces.

Day 17: An Art Piece.
Art pieces that I seem to be more drawn towards are watercolor like paintings, not too abstract sculptures, and light and pretty writing pieces. I don't like anything too obtuse or dark/heavy.

Product Review: CoverGirl Lash Blast Length Water Resistant Mascara

This is my first product review. In my product reviews I will be telling you guys what the product is, a little background of how I feel about the product, and the pros and cons of the product. I will also be rating it on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the best.

Product Review: CoverGirl Lash Blast Length Water Resistant Mascara.

I LOVE this mascara. Before finding the covergirl mascara, I had the hardest time finding a mascara that didn't leave black smudges under my eyes at the end of the day. CoverGirl Lash Blast Length Water Resistant mascara does not leave any smudges under my eyes and it really makes my eyelashes super long, but natural looking. I would defiantly recommend this product to anyone that wants longer lashes without using false eyelashes. However, I probably would just buy the regular mascara next time because I didn't see a difference with the water resistant mascara. You can find this product at any drugstore, I happened to buy it at Walmart. I think this product is fairly priced, not too expensive or cheap. When using this product I did find that I got the best results when I curled my eyelashes with a curler first and than apply the mascara.

PROS:
long lashes
goes on smoothly
nice black color

CONS:
water resistant makes it hard to get off sometimes
for best results, mascara used with eyelash curler

RATING: 9/10

Day 16: A Song That Makes You Cry Or Nearly Does

When I first read this challenge I thought 'no way, there isn't a song that makes me cry'... However, when I actually spent some time thinking about I guess there is a song that can make me cry...

Day 16: A Song That Makes You Cry Or Nearly Does.
You Can Let Go by Crystal Shawanda

This song is really touching because the lyrics are so true and speak right to the heart. There isn't anything in the world that my father wouldn't do for me. The sayings true, 'there's only one man you can fully trust, your father'. He's always been there for me and I know he loves me dearly. I love you dad!

Here are the lyrics:
Wind blowin' on my face
Sidewalk flying' beneath my bike
A five year old's first taste
Of what freedom's really like
He was runnin' right beside me
His hand holdin' on the seat
I took a deep breath and hollered
As I headed for the street

You can let go now, Daddy
You can let go
Oh, I think I'm ready
To do this on my own
It's still a little bit scary
But I want you to know
I'll be ok now, Daddy
You can let go

I was standin' at the altar
Between the two loves of my life
To one i've been a daughter
To one I soon would be a wife
When the preacher asked
'Who gives this woman?'
Daddy's eyes filled up with tears
He kept holdin' tightly to my arm
'Till I whispered in his ear

You can let go now, Daddy
You can let go
Oh, I think I'm ready
To do this on my own
It's still a little bit scary
But I want you to know
I'll be ok now, Daddy
You can let go

It was killin' me to see
The strongest man I ever knew
Wastin' away to nothin'
In that hospital room
'You know he's only hangin' on for you'
That's what the night nurse said
My voice and heart were breakin'
As I crawled up in his bed, and said

You can let go now, Daddy
You can let go
Your little girl is ready
To do this on my own
It's gonna be a little bit scary
But I want you to know
I'll be ok now, Daddy
You can let go
You can let go

Wordless Wednesday... On A Friday

Every Wednesday I will be doing a Wordless Wednesday. On these days I will be posting a series of photos that I find beautiful or interesting or just really like... Let me know if you like this. Enjoy!

Day 14: Your Favorite Non-Fictional Book & Day 15: A Fanfic

Day 14: Your Favorite Non-Fictional Book.
Cookbooks, Self-Improvement, Crafts, and Healthy Lifestyle books.

I don't have one particular favorite non-fictional book because I love so many different ones! I'll start with cookbooks. I LOVE cookbooks. Some of my favorites are the Barefoot Contessa series, Sandra Lee's cookbooks, and Martha Stewart's series. I really enjoying cooking and trying new recipes. Self-Improvement books are always a great read. You can't go wrong with improving yourself. I'm also really interested in crafts such as, sewing, scrapbooking, organization, etc. Since living a healthy lifestyle is really important to me I love a good book that focuses on improving your lifestyle.

Day 15: A Fanfic.
I don't care for any fanfics...

Day 13: Your Favorite Fictional Book

Here's Wednesday's challenge today!!!

Day 13: Your Favorite Fictional Book
The Twilight Saga

Now, I've talked about this before in a previous post, but I'll touch on it lightly again. I read all the Twilight books WWAAYY before it became what it is now. Now, its this huge deal with this crazy Twi-Hard fanatic fans, I'm definatly not one of them. I'm not into the whole Edward vs. Jacob, screaming like a little girl, etc. I purely enjoying the books because they were simply entertaining. Nothing more. I thought it was well written, a great/interesting storyline, and I just couldn't put down any of the books!

Day 12: Whatever You'd Like To Talk About...

Today's challenge couldn't be more PERFECT! My plan today was to do whatever Day 12's challenge was and than do another post about an important topic, but today's challenge happens to be whatever I want it to, so now I can do two things in one post! YAY!

Day 12: Whatever You'd Like To Talk About.
Operation Beautiful
http://operationbeautiful.com/

Operation Beautiful is an AMAZING mission to end all negative talk that women do. This includes self-doubting, fat talk, negative image, etc. Their mission is to end all this negativity by posting positive sayings,  quotes, etc. in random areas, in the hopes that it will make some see themselves in a different light. A positive light.

I'm new to this so from today on forth I will be participating in Operation Beautiful because I think this is a great thing for everyone to do.

Day 11: A Photo Of You Taken Recently

I won't be posting a recent photo of me so I thought I would just update everyone on what has been going on lately...

Day 11: A Photo Of You Taken Recently
Update On Life.

I just applied as a transfer student to my local university. I'm really excited to be getting started on my bachelors degree. I haven't quite decided what I want to get my degree in... I know, I know I need to make my mind up fast being that I will be starting in Jan. I'm torn between an Secondary Education, English and Human Resource Management. So I'll let you know what I decide.

My boo and I are going to be taking a vacay soon to our hometown which I'm really excited about. It is a much needed vacation and we'll be doing lots of relaxing by the pool and spa days!

Other than taking care of school stuff and keeping the house in order I've just been relaxing.

Oh yeah, I did try to make French Silk Pie. It turned out good, but it was just too much of a hassle and I don't like pie making is for me.

Happy Monday!

Day 5: Your Favorite Quote

I am really excited about today's challenge because I love so many different quotes! After I tell you my favorite quote I'll also list some of my other favorites...

Day 5: Your Favorite Quote...
'Be the change you wish to see in the world' -Ghandi

*I'll tell you now that I don't know a lot of the original authors of these quotes so I'm not going to list at all who might of said them.

Here are some of my other favorite quotes...

'And we were dress from head to toe in love... the only label that never goes out of style'

'Some days we'll want to give up, and others out hearts will soar with joy over re-having a new mile stone. If we remember to be thankful for the good and the bad, our journey will be that much more rewarding in the end'

'From here on after lets stay the way we are right now and share all the love and laughter that a lifetime may allow'

'Maybe some women aren't meant to be tamed. Maybe they need to run free until they find someone just as wild to run with them'

'He's the one who has enough of me to break my heart...'

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!

42 Beauty Question.

Here is a 42 beauty q&a, enjoy!

SKINCARE...
1: How many time do you wash your face?
I try to wash my face at least once a day. However,  I fail miserably at this task, haha. The past few months, I think I have washed my face, like, 5 times.
2: What skin type do you have?
I would say that I have an oily/dry face, but more dry than oily. I always have to put some kind of face moisturizer on after I shower.
3: What is your current facial wash?
Right now I'm using Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub, Biore Revitalize 4-in-1 Self Foaming Cleanser and occasionally I use Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips on my chin, sometimes my nose.
4: Do you exfoliate?
Yes, I like to use the facial scrub pads from either Walmart or Target. I usually scrub with the Pore Unclogging Scrub. I also exfoliate my body too, with just a body scrub pad with my body wash.
5: What brand do you use?
See the above question.
6: What moisturizer do you use?
I usually use Biore Nourish Moisture Lotion SPF 15, but for some reason I couldn't find it anywhere, so right now I'm using, Garnier Ultra-Life Anti-Wrinkle Firming Moisture Cream SPF 15 and Garnier Skin Renew Overnight Regenerating Cream. I'm pleased with all products from Biore and Garnier.
7: Do you have freckles?
No
8: Do you use eye cream?
No, however, a friend gave me an eye cream that she doesn't use so I have been using that right now, but I wouldn't buy an eye cream once I'm finished with this one.
9: Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
I would say no, but I did go through an acne phase when I was in Jr. High with my hormones going up and down and back and forth. But fortunately, I haven't had a big problem with acne.
10: Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?
I didn't have to use it, but I have used it. Since I didn't have a real reason to use Pro-activ I didn't like this product at all. It left my face really dry and I would have to have apply moisturizer throughout the day.

MAKEUP...
*I do not wear makeup on a regular basis. Also, I do not what is good makeup, what isn't... the newest trends in makeup, etc.

11: What foundation do you use?
I use either TIGI Bed Head Glamma Liquid or bareMinerals SPF 15 foundation.
12: How about concealer?
To be honest, I have no idea what concealer is or where you put it. So simply, no I do not use concealer.
13: Do you know your undertone color?
Kind of, I would say I have a natural undertone.
14: What do you think of fake eyelashes?
If I had the confidence to wear them/pull them off I would totally! I know a lot of people who wear fake eyelashes and it just makes their eyes pop! I'm all for them.
15: Did you know that you are suppose to change your mascara every 3 months?
Yes, I did know that, but I don't. However, I do use about 3 or 4 different mascaras.
16: What brand mascara do you use?
My two favorite mascaras are; CoverGirl Lash Blast Length and blinc mascara.
17: Sephora or MAC?
Sephora, hands down! Since I'm into a lot of different products besides makeup, I would defiantly choose Sephora.
18: Do you have a MAC Pro-card?
No.
19: What makeup tools do you use in make up application?
I couldn't tell you. I just use whatever my mom gave me.
20: Do yo use make-up base/primer for the eyes?
No.
21: For the face?
No.
22: What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?
Not really. I do tend to like more natural colors like browns, beiges, and greens.
23: Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
I don't usually wear eyeliner, but I do prefer the pencil to the liquid.
24: How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?
Hardly ever because I hardly wear eyeliner.
25: What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?
I don't know what that is.
26: Do you use mineral makeup?
I have a mineral makeup starter kit from bareMinerals. I like it a lot.
27: What is your favorite lipstick?
I'm still on the quest for that. I'm still actually on the quest to find my favorite, err, right lipstick for myself.
28: How about lipgloss?
I don't like lipgloss. Can't kiss my boo when wearing it so I just don't.
29: What is your favorite blush to use?
None.
30: Do you buy your makeup on ebay?
Gross, no.
31: Do you like drugstore makeup?
It's the only kind of makeup I really now, besides bareMinerals.
32: Do you go to CCO's?
No.
33: Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?
Yes. My best friend is a makeup artist and she's really great at it, but it was never my passion.
34: Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
Yes, very much so. Which is why I don't wear it.
35: Name a makeup crime you hate.
Dark lip liner with light lipgloss or lipstick, or when mascara is left on the eyelid.
36: Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones?
Neutral ones because I like the natural look.
37: Which celebrity always has great make up?
I think Kim Kardashian always looks really put together or Ashley Greene.
38: If you could leave the house using just ONE makeup item, what would you use?
Well I do that everyday. I would use mascara.
39: Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
Yes, I usually do it everyday.
40: Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
Um, yes. Since I don't really wear makeup, I sure hope I look good without it.
41: In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?
I couldn't give you a good answer since I don't know good from bad with makeup.
42: What do you think of makeup?
Overall, I think people should embrace their natural beauty and stay away from makeup.

Day 4: Your Favorite Book

I LOVE to read. Err, I LOVE to read good/interesting books. I've found that I really enjoy to read however its really hard for me to find a great book. I'm very picky when it comes to what books I'll read. My two favorite authors are Jodi Picoult (The Pact, My Sister's Keeper, The Tenth Circle) and Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook, A Walk To Remember, True Love). One of my favorite things to do is to read books that have been made into movies or vice versa. Picoult and Sparks books happen to have a lot of books made into movies. While I mostly read books from those two authors, I will branch out occasionally. I really enjoyed the book The Time Traveler's Wife, as well as the movie. Um, The Other Man which was about John F. Kennedy Jr.'s wife and this other man. I read that twice! I also love reading biographies. I read Tori Spellings books in 2 days! She has a cute way of writing and I loved her humor.

Drum Roll.....

Day 4: Your Favorite Book...
The Twilight Saga

Now, before you go assuming that I'm a huge Twi-Hard. I'm not. I do not enjoy the movies, nor am I obsessed with 'Edward'. Haha, for starters, I read the Twilight Saga way before it became this huge phenomenon. Like, years ago I think 2006 for the first two books, and than like 2008 after the last two came out. Secondly, the story was interesting and entertaining. I enjoyed the saga very much.

P.S. Happy 4th of July!!!

Day 3: Your Favorite Television Program

Day 3: Your Favorite Television Program.
Anything on Food Network
or...

So I don't really watch television all that much, however, the past few months I've had a lot of free time on my hands so I have been watching a lot more television than I usually do. I've watched every show possible basically from reality shows to soap operas to the news. I picked any show on food network as my favorite television program because I'm always watching FN. I love cooking and watching all the different shows on FN!

I guess if I had to narrow down my favorites, I guess it would be... Barefoot Contessa. I love everything Ina makes because its easy, classy, and always really good.

Friday, July 2, 2010

Day 2: Your Favorite Movie...

This is another tough question to answer because I love so many different types of movies and I find a lot of movies very entertaining. I have a lot of appreciation for everything that goes into making a movie. It's actually quite fascinating. While I like an occasional chick flick those aren't really my favorite type of movies. I love a good love story, but those get old rather quickly because its the same story over and over again. I'm also not too into horror films. I'll watch a good horror film and sometimes the occasional cheesy horror thriller, but I do tend to get scared very easily and right not thats not good cause I spend a lot of time at home alone, haha. My favorite type of movies to watch are action/adventure/drama/mystery type movies. I also love all the cult classics! So what is my favorite movie, you ask?

Day 2: Your Favorite Movie.
The Boondock Saints

This is my favorite movie hands down! While my favorite song changes from day to day, so far my favorite movie has stayed pretty consistent since I've seen this movie. I just love the whole idea of it! Some of my other favorite movies are; Smokin' Aces, 300, Law Abiding Citizen, The Notebook, Titanic...

Till Tomorrow.

Day 1: Your Favorite Song...

I was excited to start this challenge, until I read Day One and it was 'Your Favorite Song'. I mean I am still very excited to be doing this challenge, but picking my favorite song is such a hard decision. I love so many different songs and my 'favorite' song is always changing. So I thought I would just pick my favorite song of today.

Day 1: Your Favorite Song.
Starstruck By Santigold

This is my favorite song right now because it has a great beat, has a different sound to it, and always gets me in a good mood. I really love this song by Santigold, but I've found that I actually don't like too many of their other songs. This kind of disappointed me a little because this is such a great song.
